Ghetto grew up listening to
hip hop ,jazz , classical andgospel music . According to an interview in 2006, he acquired the nickname Ghetto because as a youth he was mischievous and his actions were classed as "ghetto". He spent two years inprison for robberies and severalcar offences .Ghetto was a member of grime collective NASTY Crew, however he left, saying that things had gone "pear shaped" due to the number of people in the group "mainly Marcus "ayia nappa" Nasty". In 2005, after being released from prison at the age of twenty one years old, Ghetto put out his first release, "2000 & Life". The mixtape contains 24 tracks and numerous collaborations. "Ghetto Gospel"
In 2007 Ghetto released his second, pre-album mixtape "Ghetto Gospel". The mixtape was a departure from his previous release, "2000 & Life", being more mellow and featuring tracks about subjects such as girlfriends and his mother. In interviews, he has stated that the mixtape's calmer tone is to "prove people wrong", as he does not want to be
typecast as anaggressive rapper . Ghetto then released his third mixtape entitled Freedom Of Speech, which had collaborations with Lewi White Smasher and sparkey, griminal, brutal, devlin Ghetto stated that the mixtape is more akin to "2000 & Life" than "Ghetto Gospel".
Future Projects
Ghetto is planning a "2000 & Life Vol. 2" mixtape which he says is going to be a "
Christmas special". He plans to use this mixtape to collaborate with a wider range of other artists than on his previous releases.Ghetto has announced a special edition of "Ghetto Gospel" which will include a
music video for every track.Debut Album
