Merryweather helmets

Merryweather helmets

Merryweather helmets were a type of helmet used by British fire brigades from the Victorian era. These helmets were made of brass or nickel and used to protect the heads of firefighters.

The helmet material changed to plastic to make them lighter. They were slow replaced by the modern structural fire helmets, similar to the ones used in North American jurisdictions.
