Birya

Birya ( _he. בִּירִיָּה) (also Biriya) is an agricultural religious settlement in Merom haGalil Regional Council in Galilee, Israel. The village is named after an ancient settlement that situated in this place.

Birya was one of settlements hit by Katyusha rockets launched by Hezbollah on July 14, 2006 during the 2006 Israel-Lebanon conflict. Efforts have been made to resuscitate the forest on its outskirts, which suffered severe damage in the war.
