Lu The

Lu The [http://www.p4paintings.com/index.php?main_page=art_artist_info&manufacturers_id=82 Lu The's Portrait] is a Vietnamese artist born in the small town of Nam Dinh in 1943. His first exhibition was sponsored by the Social and Cultural Department of Vietnam in 1966, but he did not become renowned until 1975. Lu The has had many exhibitions, however most of them were for charity fundraisers helping local relief efforts. He also had an exhibit in 1968 and in 1969 he was in a group exhibition held at the Parliament House in Saigon. By 1970 Lu The had received his first bronze medal honored by Vietnam’s president Nguyen Van Thieu.

In 1972 Lu The had his first sculpture exhibit hosted by a joint effort between the US and Vietnam Art Association. In 1973 the Esso Petroleum Company hosted a solo exhibit for Lu The and honored him with a certificate for Religious and Art exhibition. And in 1999, 2002 and 2005 he was awarded with one of highest honors received in the art community by Ho Chi Minh City Fine Art Museum and Vietnam’s Ministry of Information and Cultural affairs. Lu The most recent exhibit, Queen Of Vietnamese Holy” was held in HCMC in 2005 and was sponsored by Cardinal Sepe of Roma Cathedral. Lu The is presently a member of the HCMC Fine Arts Association.
