Doughty Shield

Doughty Shield

The Doughty Shield is a rugby union competition in Brisbane, Australia.

From 1929 to 1941 inclusive, the Doughty Shield was awarded to the A Grade Premiers.

It is now presented to the Brisbane Club Champion in where each team from every club contributes to the final tally of points. In 2007 Premier Rugby was not included in calculations for this trophy, but thankfully this experiment only lasted one season.

The Club Championship is calculated by an accumulated total of points from all contributing teams (Premier Grade to 4th Grade, Women and Premier Colts to Colts 2).
