Gordie Hinkle

Daniel Gordon Hinkle (April 3, 1905 - March 19, 1972) was a backup catcher in Major League Baseball who played briefly for the Boston Red Sox during the 1934 season. Listed at 6' 0", 185 lb., Hinkle batted and threw right-handed. He was born in Toronto, Ohio.

In a one-season career, Hinkle was a .173 hitter (13-for-75) with nine RBI in 27 games, including seven runs, six doubles and one triple. He did not hit a home run. In 26 catching appearances, he posted a .992 fielding percentage, committing one error in 119 chances. Hinkle died in Houston, Texas at age 66.
