Professor Robert Pearce is a British academic. He was the
Vice-Chancellor of theUniversity of Wales, Lampeter between 2003 and 2008.Educated at
Grammar School s inBirmingham ,Bristol andGloucester Pearce went on to studylaw at Pembroke College, Oxford. He has since held academic positions at the Universities of Newcastle upon Tyne, Lancaster,University College Cork (part of the National University of Ireland), and at theUniversity of Western Ontario .He has been Professor in Law at the
University of Buckingham between 1990 and 2003, where he was successively Pro-Vice-Chancellor, Deputy Vice-Chancellor and Acting Vice-Chancellor. On1 October , 2003, he became the Vice-Chancellor of theUniversity of Wales, Lampeter , in succession to ProfessorKeith Robbins . In this capacity, he was Welsh Supernumerary Fellow ofJesus College, Oxford for the academic year 2007/8 until he unexpectedly abandoned his position in Lampeter and moved to Francecite web |url=http://www.timeshighereducation.co.uk/story.asp?sectioncode=26&storycode=403534 |title=University of Wales, Lampeter - Vice-chancellor retires |work=Times Higher Education |accessdate=2008-09-18] .
