HMT Warwick Deeping was an anti-submarine trawler of the
Royal Navy built in1934 inSelby for the Newington Steam Trawling Co. ofKingston upon Hull , and sunk by Germantorpedo boat s off theIsle of Wight onOctober 12 ,1940 .Originally a fishing trawler intended strictly for peaceful fishing, the Warwick Deeping was requisitioned by the
Admiralty in September1939 for anti-submarine duties and converted for war, for example by fitting submarine detection gear.Today, the wreck lies sunk into the soft seabed on an even
keel in approximately 40 m of water, very much intact with access to her engine room andgalley .External links
