Radimisht

Radimisht

Radimisht is a small village in Albania, with approximately three houses currently populated. Inside the village, there are several houses and the remains of an old church. The word Radimisht is of Slavic origin and it means "those who love work," symbolizing the hard-working character of the villagers. The village was created after the Ottoman invasion of southern Albania, as Christian Albanian villagers moved north to escape persecution. Radimisht is eight miles from the Greek border and about 40 miles from the Albanian coast (direct line). There are no paved roads to the village, however, and it can currently be reached only by animal rides (donkey, horse) or off-road vehicles.
