"Sin Chew Jit Poh" (zh-tsp|t=星洲日報|s=星洲日报|p=Xīng Zhōu Rìbào) or "Sin Chew Daily", is a major Chinese newspaper in Malaysia. It was founded on January 15, 1929 by Aw Boon Par (胡文豹) and Aw Boon Haw (胡文虎), founder of the Tiger Balm (虎標萬金油) in Singapore. [http://www.tigerbalm.co.uk/history.html]

In October 1987, this newspaper, along with "The Star" and "Watan", had their publishing permits suspended temporarily due to concern that they might be inciting controversy in the wake of Operation Lalang.

In 1988, Tiong Hiew King, a tycoon of Sibu, Sarawak who own Rimbunan Hijau bought the newspaper to resume its operations.
