The Mandarin Immersion Program is a language magnet program located in Portland,OR, dedicated to the teaching of Mandarin Chinese and Chinese culture to students that enroll in the program.The language program is hosted by Woodstock Elementary School,Hosford Middle School,and finally Cleveland High School. The Immersion program has ran continuesly since 1998. The MIP (Mandarin Immersion Program) has proven to train fully-functional and fluent speakers of Mandarin, while not compromising their English education as well. The MIP was modeled after the Japanese Magnet Program,also in Portland,OR.
