The Chattanooga-Cleveland-Athens Combined Statistical Area covers a total of nine counties – six in southeast
Tennessee and three in northwest Georgia. The combined statistical area consists of twometropolitan statistical area s – Chattanooga and Cleveland – as well as the Athensmicropolitan statistical area . As of the 2000 census, the CSA had a population of 629,561 (though a July 1, 2007 estimate placed the population at 677,820).
