October 13 ,1954 inMansfield, Ohio ) is an Americanarchitect ,set designer , andplaywright . He conceived theoff-Broadway Jerry Herman musical revue "Showtune".A graduate of the
University of Cincinnati , Gilger designed theIndustrial Light and Magic Film Studios inSan Rafael, California for filmmakerGeorge Lucas ("Star Wars ", "Indiana Jones ") in 1991, and he assisted in the conceptual designs for the Disney/MGM Film Studios inTokyo, Japan .With Nomad Productions Scenic Studios in
San Francisco , Gilger designed stage sets and concert touring sets for Madonna, Crosby, Stills & Nash,Carlos Santana , Alabama,Whoopi Goldberg ,Anthony Newley , theSuper Bowl broadcast, and numerous sets fortelevision andtheatre .Gilger's recent architectural work includes the landmark Edgewater House in
Mill Valley inMarin County ,California , built in 2003 byLehman Brothers of New York.In addition, Gilger chairs the [http://www.lincolnhighwayassoc.org/ Lincoln Highway Association National Mapping Committee] . In 2007, the 18 member committee completed the research and cartography of the original route of the
Lincoln Highway , the first road across America, and all of its subsequent realignments (over 5869 miles), a project which took more than 5 years.Gilger resides in Santa Rosa in
Sonoma County ,California .
