- Dominion Elections Act
-
The Dominion Elections Act was a Canadian bill passed by Robert Borden's Conservative government in 1920. This act allowed women to run for the Parliament of Canada. However, women from minorities, for example Aboriginals and Asians, were not granted these rights. This bill was passed due to the pressure of Nellie McClung, a women's rights activist from Manitoba.
