Raymond “Ray” Beckman was a U.S.
soccer player who was a member of the 1948 U.S. Olympic soccer team. He also earned two caps with the U.S. national team that year.National and Olympic teams

Following the Olympics, the U.S. played two full internationals, an 11-0 loss to Norway, followed by a 5-0 loss to Northern Ireland on

At the time he was selected for the Olympic team, Beckman was playing for De Andries in the St. Louis Major League.
Coaching
Coached soccer at the
John Burroughs School for fifty-one years. He retired in 2000.Beckman’s contributions to soccer in St. Louis led to the establishment of a soccer tournament and stadium in his name.
