Shōwa Iōjima

of Volcano Islands, Ogasawara, Tokyo. Shōwa Iōjima came into existence during an eruption in 1934. On September 6, 1934, earthquakes began. On the 20th, 2 km east a volcano formed, and by December it had formed a new island.
