Mountain Societies Development Support Programme

Mountain Societies Development Support Programme

The Mountain Societies Development Support Programme is a branch of the Aga Khan Development Network ("AKDN") dedicated to improving the quality of life of the people of the mountainous oblasts of Tajikistan.

Their most notable project is the multi-phase revitalization of a 28 megawat powerplant in the Tajik province of Gorno-Badakhshan, just outside of the town of Khorog. With the aid of the International Finance Corporation the MSDSP plans to restore the plant and rectify the food and power shortages faced by Tajiks in the province for decades.
