Ron Johnson (politician)

Ron Wayne Johnson (born November 16, 1966 in Brantford, Ontario) is a former politician in Ontario, Canada. He was a Progressive Conservative member of the Legislative Assembly of Ontario from 1995 to 1999.

Johnson was educated at the Brantford Collegiate Institute and the Transport Canada Training Institution. He worked as the editor of the "Brant News".

Johnson was elected to the Ontario parliament in the 1995 provincial election, defeating Liberal Dave Neumann by over 3,000 votes in Brantford. Incumbent New Democratic Party candidate Brad Ward finished third.

Johnson's victory was unexpected, and he played a very small role in the sitting of the legislature that followed. He held no official parliamentary responsibilities after 1997, and did not seek re-election in 1999. He endorsed Frank Klees's bid to lead the Ontario PC Party in 2004.
