Conferences

IIGSS had successfully held four international academic conferences since 1995. The 5th international conference of International Institute for General Systems Studies was held in International Exchange Center of HUST in June 2007. This conference had received more than 700 articles among which more than 390 papers were accepted. More than 260 representatives participated in this conference from 16 countries and regions including China, the United States, Britain, Germany, Japan, Russia, Australia, Poland, Greek and many others. The representatives discussed intensively on frontier academic issues of System Science.

Journal Advances in Systems Science and Applications

The "Advances in Systems Science and Applications" (ASSA) is an international journal, established as an official journal of the International Institute for General Systems Studies. This journal addresses advancement of general systems theory and its applications in various disciplines as its title reflects. It is a multi-disciplinary research journal. The Editor-in-Chief is Mian-Yun Chen form the Department of Control Science and Engineering, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, China. ASSA attempts to report effort made by systems scientists in establishing a new dimension of science and in exploring situations where the theory can be applied to solving realistic problems, which cannot be solved by traditional means. ASSA also promotes the study of mathematical foundation of general systems theory and will take a part in today’s emerging research in systems science.

Visiting Scholars Program

Since 1995 the International Institute for General Systems Institute, Inc., has been a host for visiting scientists pursuing studies in systems research and applications. [ [http://www.iigss.net/visitors.htm Visiting Scholars Program of the IIGSS] .] The IIGSS and its journals "Advances in Systems Science and Applications" (ASSA) has attracted more than 30 internationally renowned scholars, such as: V. BurKov, J. Casti, J. Y. Lin Forrest, Rudolf E. Kalman, Carl Y. Ma, Mihajlo Mesarovic, Y. Takahara, V. Tsurkov, Wayne Wymore, Lotfi A. Zadeh, Gerard de Zeeuw, Bernard P. Zeigler and H. Zimmerman.
