Jewish American author andcolumnist who was born and raised inPontiac, Michigan . After graduating from theUniversity of Michigan , moved to Israel. He spent a decade in the army, government service and politcs,working for the Liberal Party in theLikud . In 1977, he was appointed Director of the Government Press Office, a post he held for five years during the administration of Prime Minister Menachem Begin.He was the founding managing editor of the
Jerusalem Report Magazine and is the author of ten books of fiction, media criticism, and social and political commentary.He was a regular columnist for the
New York Daily News from 2000 until 2004. Today his columns appear frequently in major newspapers around the world, including the New York Times, the Los Angeles Times and the New York Post. He is a frequent contributor tothe New York Times Sunday Magazine .Books
