Lacey E. Putney (born June 27, 1928) has been a member of the Virginia House of Delegates since 1962, representing Bedford, Virginia. He served as a Democrat until 1968, and since then has run for office as an independent, although he is caucuses with the House Republicans.

In June 2002 Republican House Speaker S. Vance Wilkins, Jr. resigned following revelations that he had paid a staffer to keep quiet about "unwanted sexual advances". Howell.
