Matthew J. "Matt" Lohr (born August 28, 1971, in Harrisonburg, Virginia) is an American politician. A Republican, he was elected to the Virginia House of Delegates in November 2005. He represented the city of Harrisonburg and northern portions of Rockingham County.[1] In 2007 and 2009 he was re-elected to office earning 71% and 73% of the vote respectively. On March 16, 2010 Lohr announced his resignation from the House of Delegates to accept an appointment by Governor Bob McDonnell as Commissioner for the Virginia Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services.

Lohr accumulated a conservative voting record after defeating Democrat Lowell Fulk in 2005 54% to 46% for an open seat.[2] In the House, Lohr was a member of the Agriculture, Chesapeake, and Natural Resources; Finance; and Counties, Cities, and Towns Committee. As a legislator he focused his efforts on improving the agricultural industry, strengthening the business climate in Virginia, and helping school divisions become more successful.

His legislative high point was the passage of legislation that banned the sale of "novelty lighters" to children.
