Linda Jones

Linda Jones

Linda Jones (14 December 1944, Newark, New Jersey - 14 March 1972, Harlem) [Many standard sources give the date as January 14, 1944, but family members have the date as December 14th.] was an American soul singer. She signed with Warner Bros. Records subsidiary Loma Records in 1967 and released the biggest of several hits, "Hypnotized". Soon after her career took off, however, she was diagnosed with diabetes and died in 1972 after she collapsed backstage at the Apollo Theater.
