Gleb Olegovich Pavlovsky ( _ru. Глеб Олегович Павловский, born in Odessa on March 5, 1951) is a pro-Kremlin political scientist (self-describing as political technologist) and adviser of Presidential Administration of Russia. During the Soviet times he was prosecuted as a dissident [ [http://old.russ.ru/journal/dosie/pavlovsk.htm Gleb Pavlovsky biography] , Russian Journal] . However, Pavlovsky's reputation as a Soviet-era human rights activist is not undisputed. Human rights activist and widow of Andrei Sakharov Yelena Bonner once said of Pavlovsky: "I knew Pavlovskii for what he was back in 1980 or 1981, when he gave evidence against Sergei Kovalev's son to the KGB," the "Moskovsky Komsomolets" newspaper reported.cn|date=October 2007

Pavlovsky is the president of the Foundation for Effective Politics (FEP) [ [http://www.fep.ru/ FEP] ] . In 1997 he helped in creation the Russian Journal, one of the oldest Russian internet media [ [http://english.russ.ru/today/project.html "About the Russian Journal"] ] . Pavlovsky and FEP were organizers and financiers for many early information projects in the Runet, such as Lenta.Ru.

Since 2005 he has hosted weekly news commentary TV program Real Politics at 10 p.m. on Saturdays on NTV.

Ukrainian controversy

Gleb Pavlovsky is considered to have been heavily involved with the highly controversial Ukrainian presidential election, 2004, supporting the ultimately defeated (after allegations of fraud and an overturning of the result by the Supreme Court of Ukraine) Viktor Yanukovych.

In early 2005, Gleb Pavlovsky became the center of controversy when an apparently tapped telephone conversation that mentioned his name aired on Kiev's Channel 5 TV. This tape linked him to the dioxin poisoning of Ukrainian president Viktor Yushchenko. However Gleb Pavlovsky categorically denied any connection of his to the poisoning.
