Guided Democracy

Guided Democracy

Guided democracy is a term for a democratic government with increased autocracy. While following basic democratic principles there can be minor deviations towards totalitarianism.

Foremost, the term was used in reference to a certain political period in Indonesia. Lately this term is also widely employed in Russia, where it was introduced into common practice by the Kremlin theorists, in particular Gleb Pavlovsky.
