Mara MacDonald

Mara MacDonald is an American television reporter, known for her recent work at NBC affiliate WDIV-TV, owned by Post-Newsweek Stations in Detroit, Michigan.

A native of the Detroit area, MacDonald is a graduate of the Detroit Country Day School. She went on to attend Miami University located in Oxford, Ohio, where she received a bachelor of arts degree in diplomacy and foreign affairs.

MacDonald began her career in television working as a producer at WKBD-TV in Southfield, Michigan. She took her first reporting job at WLNS-TV, a CBS affiliate located in Lansing, Michigan, owned by Young Broadcasting.

MacDonald moved to Richmond, Virginia where she worked as reporter for ABC affiliate WRIC-TV, owned by Young Broadcasting. From Richmond, MacDonald went to work as a reporter for WITI, a Fox network owned-and-operated station located in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

MacDonald began working as a reporter for WDIV in 2004.
