Aegidius (disambiguation)

Aegidius or Ægidius was a Gallo-Roman promoted as magister militum in Gaul.

Aegidius may also refer to:

* Aegidius Gelenius (1595-1656), Cologne historian
* Aegidius of Assisi (died 1262), one of the original companions of St. Francis of Assisi
* Aegidius of Viterbo (1470-1532), Italian cardinal, theologian, orator, humanist and poet
* Aegidius Sadeler (circa 1570-1629), Flemish baroque era painter and engraver
* Aegidius Tschudi (1505-1572), Swiss writer.

In Ægidius the Æ merely a grapheme formed from the letters "a" and "e", represented in print by a ligature; though it has been promoted to the full status of a letter in the alphabets of many languages, it is not a variant spelling in English.

Ægidius may refer to:

* Ægidius (saint) (circa 650-710), Christian hermit saint
* Ægidius Elling (1861-1949), Norwegian inventor
