He won gold medals for the Men's 4×200 m freestyle relay in the 1932 Summer Olympics and 1936 Summer Olympics. He won silver medal for the Men's 100 m freestyle in the 1936 Summer Olympics.
He was born in Tadotsu, Kagawa Prefecture, Japan.
