- Glamorgan Business School
Established in 1992, the Glamorgan Business School has risen to become the major provider of applied, vocational business education across the full range of non-degree, under-graduate, post-graduate and professional courses in Wales. The School is one of seven academic faculties that make up the University of Glamorgan and has expertise up to professorial level in the areas of finance and accounting, strategy, marketing, economics, enterprise, human resource management, leadership and governance. The School is also a Chartered Institute of Purchasing & Supply (CIPS) Centre of Excellence.
It's the largest business school in Wales and has a great reputation and great industry links delivering courses in-house at a variety of companies including Hyder, Bosch, British Airways and London Underground.
Professor Alan Lovell as Dean has overall responsibility for the academic leadership and management of the School, supported by a Senior Management Team which includes four academic Heads of Department, the Director of Research and the Head of Administration.
Many professional bodies give their backing to the Glamorgan Business School with many of their students working towards ACCA, IIA, CIPD and CIPS qualifications.
Courses of Interest
The Business School at the University of Glamorgan have a wide variety of courses in business. Students are given plenty of opportunity for study abroad, and students on degree courses take part in exchanges with other institutions in Holland, France, Denmark and Germany.
Executive Courses
Glamorgan Business School runs an executive suite of courses. Aimed at mid to senior career professionals, these courses aim to give you the skills to thrive in the modern business world. Executive students at the University of Glamorgan also have the opportunity to participate in guest lectures held by the Business School.
Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA)
The ACCA course at Glamorgan is taught on a part time (afternoon and evening) basis and is designed to equip their students with the technical skills and techniques required to pass examinations.

The Business Excellence degree scheme allows students to tailor their degree, giving them the skills to open career opportunities within their chosen field of business. Students can specialise in seven different strands of business including Human Resources, Marketing and International Business.

The Glamorgan Business School has a student body of approximately 4,000 students, who have the choice of studying full-time, part-time, on-line, on-campus and off-campus at locations ranging from the University of Glamorgan campus in Pontypridd, to partner colleges in Wales and London and international franchises overseas.
Research
The School’s research base includes a number of research units, each led by a member of the professoriate. The School supports a post-graduate research culture and encourages all academic staff to engage in scholarly research.
There are currently four specialist research centres at the Glamorgan Business School with leading academics in the fields of entrepreneurship and enterprise; work place bullying; leadership; marketing; organisational governance; creative supply chain thinking; public service management; organisational sustainability; business ethics; and creative organisational development.

Situated on the universities main campus in Treforest, Wales, the school is easily accessed via Treforest railway station from either Cardiff, Merthyr or the Rhondda; regular bus services or the A470.
Visiting the Glamorgan Business School is especially easy via the M4 motorway. Just head for junction 32 and take the A470 northbound toward Merthyr Tydfil. Exit at the Llantrisant signpost for the A473, then take the first exit for our main campus.
