A Wolf at the Table

A Wolf at the Table

A Wolf at the Table is a memoir by Augusten Burroughs of his sometimes turbulent relationship with his father. In the summer of 2007, Burroughs announced on his official website that the book was released on Start date|2008|4|29. In an interview with "Wikinews", Burroughs said that many of his fans may have trouble with the book. "As soon as they hear the title," said Burroughs, "they'll already chuckle. And then as they read it, they'll think, 'Well, my God, he's lost it. This isn't funny!' And then the more they read, they'll realize: this is just horrible. I mean, it's just a devastating, terrifying story. But I had to write it for me--and, um, I mean, it's, it's definitely scary, because it's--I don't, you know, I don't want to alienate my readers, or my fans, but you know, I can't think about that."
