Arthur E. Reimer

Arthur Elmers Reimer was a member of the Socialist Labor Party of America and a two-time unsuccessful candidate for President of the United States in 1912 and 1916.

Very little is known about Reimer's personal or professional background, except that he was from Massachusetts.

1912 Presidential election

He was the Socialist-Labor Party Presidential candidate for the 1912 election. His running mate was August Gillhaus of New York. The election was won by Democratic candidate Woodrow Wilson.

Reimer was also surpassed by four other unsuccessful candidates:
*Theodore Roosevelt of the Progressive Party.
*William Taft of the Republican Party.
*Eugene Debs of the Socialist Party of America.
*Eugene W. Chafin of the United States Prohibition Party.

1916 Presidential election

He was again a Presidential candidate for the 1916 election. His running mate was Caleb Harrison of Illinois. This election was also won by Woodrow Wilson.

Reimer was also surpassed by three other unsuccessful candidates:

*Charles Evans Hughes of the Republican Party.
*Allan L. Benson of the Socialist Party.
*Frank Hanly of the United States Prohibition Party.

Post electoral career

Reimer seems to have retired from politics following his second unsuccessful campaign.
