Quaker sRobert Pearsall Smith andHannah Whitall Smith , Logan attendedHaverford College andBalliol College, Oxford . His sister Alys was the first wife ofBertrand Russell , and his sister Mary marriedBernard Berenson .Smith was much influenced by
