- Denny Cordell Fillies Stakes
-
The Denny Cordell Fillies Stakes is a Group 3 flat horse race in Ireland which is open to thoroughbred fillies and mares aged three years or older. It is run at Gowran Park over a distance of 1 mile, 1 furlong and 100 yards (1,902 metres), and it is scheduled to take place each year in late September or early October.
The event is named in memory of Denny Cordell (1943–1995), a British record producer who became a racehorse trainer and breeder in Ireland. The race was formerly classed at Listed level, and it has previously taken place in September (1996–99), October (2000–03) and August (2004–06). It was promoted to its present status, Group 3, in 2006.
