Christian Millennial Fellowship

Christian Millennial Fellowship

In 1928 the Bible Students Association in Hartford, Connecticut, withdrew their support from the Watchtower Society and later established the Christian Millennial Fellowship as a publishing arm for their ministry work. In 1940 they began publishing "The New Creation, a Herald of Gods Kingdom". The publishing house eventually reorganized and has relocated to New Jersey, with branch offices in Australia, Austria, England, Ghana, Germany, India, Italy, Japan and Romania.

They refer to themselves as "Free Bible Students", implying that they no longer under the control of a man or organization. Unlike the Associated Bible Students, they eventually discarded most of Pastor Russell's writings as error.

Beliefs

* They believe that Jehovah God is the creator of all things and the father of true believers, that he is a separate being from his son, Jesus, and that the Holy Spirit is the power of God used in creation and for salvation(Antitrinitarianism).

* "Free Bible Students" believe that people are separated from God because of their sins, but can be reconciled to him by becoming disciples of Jesus Christ. This is by belief in his teachings, by repentance, and through baptism by total immersion in water. While they are saved by faith in God's grace, believers are expected to live a life consistent with Bible teaching.

* After death, believers are in a state of non-existence, knowing nothing until the Resurrection at the Return of Christ.

* "Free Bible Students" believe that the purpose of the second advent is to bless all mankind, and renew the earth into the paradise conditions that existed in the Garden of Eden.

Worship style

"Free Bible Students" are careful to emphasize that worship is not limited to the Sunday gathering, but is a lifestyle of love and service to Christ and dedication to God's truth as revealed in the Scriptures. Most churches expect the members to carry the message of the gospel into the world among their family and friends.
