Alan Gustafson

Alan Gustafson, born August 5, 1975 and a native of Ormond Beach, Florida, is the crew chief for Casey Mears and the # 5 Kellogg's/CARQUEST Chevrolet at Hendrick Motorsports.

He has been with the No. 5 Chevy team since 1999, and became crew chief in 2005.

Career Victories

Gustafson has earned four career NASCAR Sprint Cup Series victories as crew chief of the Kellogg's/CARQUEST Chevrolet. He earned his first win with driver Kyle Busch at California Speedway (now Auto Club Speedway) in Fontana, California on September 4, 2005. Two months later, he led the team to another victory at Phoenix International Raceway in Avondale, Arizona.

In 2006, Gustafson earned his third victory at New Hampshire Motor Speedway after Busch led 107 of 308 laps.

Last season, his final season with Busch as driver of the Kellogg's/CARQUEST Chevrolet, Gustafson led the team to victory at Bristol Motor Speedway. The win came in the NEXTEL Cup Series' first race with the much talked about Car of Tomorrow. The victory was the 200th career NASCAR-sanctioned win for Hendrick Motorsports. It was also the 600th career NASCAR Sprint Cup Series victory for Chevrolet.
