Ugress

Ugress is an electronica project from Bergen, Norway. The man behind this project is Gisle Martens Meyer.

Ugress has released three albums: "Resound", released in 2002, climbed to the second place on the official Norwegian chart board. It reached the third place on the same list. [ [http://lista.vg.no/album_info.php?AlbumOp=show&albumId=8242&albumtype=album&albumtype_id=1 Ugress: Cinematronics (VG-lista)] ] . A third Ugress album titled "Unicorn" was released on January 28th, 2008.

Ugress means weed in Norwegian (weed as in an unwanted plant and not as in the street name for cannabis).

Ugress's music can be related to other artists as Crystal Method, Chemical Brothers and Propellerheads.Fact|date=February 2007 Some similarities to Röyksopp have been suggested, but Ugress is described as having a more "dirty" style.Fact|date=February 2007 Ugress uses a lot of sample snippets from various artists, movies (in particular horror and science fiction movies) and TV shows. Ugress is not the only project of Gisle Martens Meyer, it is actually one of several different projects by Uncanny Planet Records.
