Terry Peak is a ski area, in the Black Hills, just outside of Lead, South Dakota, in the United States.cite web|url=http://www.terrypeak.com/about.asp|accessdate=2008-03-04|publisher=Terry Peak|title=The Mountain Info] It has one of the three highest points east of the Rockies in the continental U.S. Terry Peak was first used as a ski area in 1936 by the Bald Mountain Ski Club when a rope tow was installed. The first chair lift was installed in 1952 and began operation in 1954. Terry Peak has since seen many upgrades in chair lifts, trails, and accommodations. Several radio stations have transmitter towers at the summit. Terry Peak is the last known legal gold mine in America.
