The Pennsylvania Creature is a cryptozoological hominid reported in 1972 and early 1973 in Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania by Earth sciences professor Jan Klement. It was described as 7 ft (~2.1 m) tall and pot-bellied. Klement claimed he was able to lure the creature using apples between late-August 1972 and mid-January 1973. Klement claimed it had short brown hair which was longer on the head, armpits, and groin. He said it had large eyes, human features and was mask-like in appearance; large muscles, flat buttocks, 13 inch-long feet, a 6 inch-long penis, and smelled like a damp dog. Klement claimed it likely fed on deer and small animals, and described it as very cautious around humans. Allegedly, Klement found the creature dead in January 1973 and subsequently buried it. From July 1973 to February 1974, the county had over 50 reports of similar creatures. Most of the creatures were dark in appearance, however one was white, another tan, and another had a white mane. Three of the creatures were shot at, with one of them bleeding.
