Johnsburg High School is open for students in Northwest
McHenry County, Illinois . There are a variety of courses students can take at JHS. There are currently 15 AP courses, and nearly 30% of the student population takes one AP exam in their junior or senior year. Conversely, many students opt to take part in the automotive program, and typically about 15 students per year earn their CDL license (via Rockford) as seniors.
One of the extracurricular offerings is its theatre program, which produces three performances each school year. The school has a unique theater-in-the-round.
The school boasts a great band program, including a wind ensemble, percussion ensemble, jazz ensemble, concert band and marching band. The marching band is mandatory for any student enrolled in an instrumental ensemble. The Johnsburg Marching Skyhawks march at every home football game, as well as competitions throughout Northern Illinois.
