Wednesbury Town F.C.

Wednesbury Town F.C. is a football club based in Wednesbury, West Midlands, England. For the 2008-09 season, they are members of the West Midlands (Regional) League Division One.

The team play at Long Lane Park, Long Lane, Essington, Wolverhampton where they share a pitch with Riverway FC.

Previous club

In the 1880s, a club by the name of Wednesbury Town entered the FA Cup in 1883-84 and 1884-85. In the first of those seasons, the club had some cup success, with victories over West Bromwich Albion (2–0), Walsall Town (6–0 after a 2–2 draw) and Derby Midland (1–0) before going out in the Fourth Round after a 5–0 defeat by Old Westminsters. The following season was less successful, going out in the First Round with a 4–1 defeat by Aston Villa.
