Sim or Shim is a Korean surname. There are 6 Sim clans in Korea. They are Cheongsong, Poongsan, Samcheok, Booyou, Uiryeong, and Jeonju. Clan of Cheongsong

The Cheongsong Shim originated from Cheongsong kun Gyeongsangbukdo. The clan's founding ancestor is General Shim Hong-Boo. He had 7 children. Shim was a Prime Minister of the Korean Joseon Dynasty, and the father of a Queen and father-in-law to King Sejong. He is most famously known for his unfortunate treason charges, which eventually led to his death and further strengthening of the royal power.
