Graeae Theatre Company

Graeae Theatre Company

Graeae Theatre Company is a British organisation composed of artists and managers with physical and sensory impairments. Founded by Nabil Shaban and Richard Tomlinson in 1980 and named for the Graeae of Greek mythology, the company has since become the most well-respected group of its kind. In 1981 the Company was offered the use of an office, rehearsal space and facilities for 18 months by the West End Centre, an Arts Centre in Aldershot in Hampshire. At about the same time the Company proved itself to the Arts Council of Great Britain and became eligible to receive full funding. [http://uk.geocities.com/jinghiz53/The_Beginning_of_Graeae.htm]
