Violin Concerto No. 2 (Bruch)

Max Bruch's Violin Concerto No. 2 in D minor, Op. 44 was composed around 1878 cite web|title=Catalog of Works by Max Bruch|url=http://www.wooster.edu/music/twood/bruchcatalog.html#44|accessdate=2007-10-05] , and dedicated to Pablo de Sarasate cite web|title=Notes to Cedille Recording of the Scottish Fantasy by Rachel Barton Pine|url=http://www.cedillerecords.org/083.html|accessdate=2007-10-05] . It was premiered in London by Sarasate, conducted by Bruch, in November 1878 . The concerto has three movements:

# Adagio non troppo
# Recitativo: Allegro moderato (attacca)
# Finale: Allegro molto

The work takes approximately 25 minutes to perform.
