Win Jones

Win Jones

Win Jones is a watercolor painter based in St. Augustine, Florida, and Washington Island, Wisconsin. Several galleries in the Midwest and Florida show his work. He has exhibited his work across the United States and received many awards for his unique and haunting style.

During his time as a student at Lawrence University, Jones worked as a cartoonist for "The Lawrentian", the student newspaper. Jones' single-panel cartoons covered mostly American college life of the 1950s. "The Lawrentian" eventually published a compilation of Jones' cartoons as a pamphlet titled "Orticulation". The black-line drawings and simple shading in Jones' cartoons greatly differ from the soft colors, floating figures, and hazy surrealism of his watercolors.
