- Ponaganset High School
Ponaganset High School is a school of the
Foster-Glocester School District , located in North Scituate,Rhode Island (inProvidence County ). The majority ofhigh school students live in the rural towns ofFoster, Rhode Island andGlocester, Rhode Island . This is a public high school, known for its music program, as well as its agricultural and automotive specialties. The offical nickname of the school's athletic teams is the Chieftains. The school has gained notoriety in RI for having a seemingly disproportionate number of winter weather-related cancellations each year. The cancellations stem from the rural layout and high-altitude terrain of the two towns; inclement weather conditions make the area more dangerous to travel in car or school bus compared to the rest of Rhode Island's coastal, suburban and urban areas.Recent graduates have attended well known schools such as
