Queensland Gas Company is building the Condamine Power Station near Miles on the western
Darling Downs . Austrian Energy andSiemens have signed a construction contract for the project, which is expected to begin during 2007.The plant will produce 150 megawatts of power and is expected to go online in September 2009.
