A federal building refers to government building built to host the regional offices of various government departments and agencies in countries with a federal system, especially when the central government is referred to as the "federal government".

Canada
In Canada there are literally hundreds of federally owned offices buildings, only some of which known as the "Federal Building". Variatious include Government Building, Dominion Building, Government of Canada building, etc. As of 2009, there are approxately 190 renovation and reconstruction projects funded under the "Investing in Federal Buildings" part of the Harper government's budget (some buildings have 2 projects approved).[1]
