James C. Corman

James C. Corman

James Charles Corman (October 20, 1920 – December 30, 2000) was the Democratic Representative from the 22nd district and later, the 21st district in California. Prior to serving in Washington, he served on the Los Angeles City Council from July 1, 1957 to January 3, 1961. "In with President Kennedy and out with President Carter," he would say after he left the United States Congress. He served in the House of Representatives from 1961 to 1981.In 2001, the Van Nuys, California Federal Building was named in his honor.

Corman graduated from Virgil Jr. High School and Belmont High School, in Downtown Los Angeles. After Belmont, he majored in political science and received his B.A. degree from UCLA.
