Gliese 176 (HD 285968) is a red dwarf star approximately 31 light years away in the constellation of Taurus. It has half the mass of our Sun and has an apparent magnitude of +9.97.

Planetary system

On September 7, 2007, an extrasolar planet was proposed as a hot Neptune. When noise from the star's rotation was filtered out, this was confirmed the following year as a potential super-Earth.cite arXiv | author=T.
