Alan Charles Brownjohn (born
28 July 1931 ) is an Englishpoet andnovelist .He was born in
London and educated atMerton College, Oxford . He taught until 1979, when he became a full-time writer. He participated inPhilip Hobsbaum 's weekly poetry discussion meetings known as The Group.Alan Brownjohn is a Distinguished Supporter of the
